2nd Home Dog Boarding

Welcome Home

When you board at 2nd Home your dogs will have a blast!  Our small kennel building contains six suites.  We have raised beds, soft blankets and ample toys and treats.  The building is climate controlled with soft lighting, comforting music, and a TV.  At bedtime the dogs doze off to the sound of Joe playing his guitar and canine lullabies!  There are many separate outdoor areas so every guest can enjoy their own space to run and play when the weather permits.  We also have group play for well socialized guests who enjoy and benefit from a pack environment. Our separate "Guest House" is available for groups of family dogs and has a large fenced area with shade trees and raised cots.  The inner fence area is completely enclosed, where smaller dogs can be kept as safe as possible in a desert setting.

About 2nd Home

More than anything, 2nd Home Dog Boarding understands that your dogs are “your kids”. We understand the bond you share with your “fur-babies”, and very much appreciate and respect how important their safety and well-being are to you when you go away.

"A" rated by Los Angele County Animal Care and Control, we've been caring for dogs for well over a decade, and Joe has been working with dogs, and dog rescue, for over 15 years. Trust us when we tell you there is no better place for your pups in the High Desert. We don't just provide a safe, loving, active, and fun environment for your dog; we provide you with peace-of-mind.

When you leave your dogs in our capable hands, you leave them with the knowledge that they will be cared for like they are our own dogs. Lots of love, lots of activity, and lots of socialization. Big or small, puppy or senior, your dog is always in the best hands at 2nd Home Dog Boarding.

All dogs must be current on shots - Rabies, Bordetella (kennel cough) and DHPP (distemper, parvo, etc) and we require copies of all relevant certificates.
We highly recommend that dogs boarded during the period of April-October receive the rattlesnake vaccine.

We have everything here that your dog will need during his/her stay, including raised cots, cozy blankets, an abundance of toys and plenty of treats. However, you are welcome to bring a special bed, blanket or toy - anything that will make your pet feel more at home! We do recommend that you bring your dog's regular food to avoid an intestinal upset, and require kibble to be in a container with a lid.

Testimonial

"Lexie loves to go to Joe's. All you have to do is get her go bag packed, and she immediately starts wagging that tail, and is ready. It definitely is a 2nd home, and Joe is like family to her."
• Mary Sue White Moody

"I can't say enough about this wonderful home away from home for our 2 little pups. Joe is the BEST and really cares about all the dogs that are his guests. I wouldn't call this a kennel, it's more of a camp for dogs. We won't have to worry about leaving Sophie and Mia next time we go out of town."
• Laurie Gullickson Brubaker

"Absolutely the best. Joe loves all dogs and takes great care of everyone. I can drop the dogs off with no worries. Gunner and Dakota sleep for 2 days when they come home because they are exhausted from having so much fun."
• Chris Stell

"Excellent place to leave your doggies when you have to go! Joe will go above and beyond to make sure your 4 legged family members are comfortable and well taken care of while you are away!"
• Denise Thomaas Treat

"Absolutely the BEST love and care. Highly highly recommend!! Truly the best experience and exceptional individual care."
• Cyndi Plagenza

"It felt like I was dropping my dogs off with a family member! One less thing to worry about while I'm away!"
• Thomas McNeil

"I could not ask for a better experience for our dogs! If you're going out of town and need a safe, friendly place to leave your fur babies where they will be as loved and cared for as they are with you, this is the place to go to. The cost is more than fair for the attention and care given to the pups. The facility is always clean and well maintained. It's like sending your dogs to camp!"
